Marie Lambert-Le Bihan (b. 1977) is a freelance opera director and lighting designer.
In January 2024 she co-directed and co-wrote Transfiguré, 12 vies de Schönberg with Bertrand Bonello at the Paris Philharmonie.
Recently she directed an acclaimed new production of Dialogues des Carmélites in Liège and Eden for Joyce DiDonato.
Other recent credits : associate direction on Pulcinella/L’heure espagnole at the Opéra Comique, new production of Carmen at Lyric Opera Chicago, new production and lighting for Le Villi (Halle aux grains,, Toulouse), La Fille du Régiment (Liège), lighting design for La Casa di Bernarda Alba (Tenerife).

She staged acclaimed productions of Leoncavallo’s Zazà (Opera Holland Park) and La Voix humaine (Buxton Festival). She was the associate director for Madama Butterfly (La Monnaie) and La Cenerentola (Opéra de Paris).
Other collaborations include The Rain VR-film by artist HeeWon Lee, Entropy a scientific lecture with music by Dopplereffekt, and projects with writer Anne-James Chaton.

Marie revived La Traviata (Liceu, Madrid, Scottish Opera), La Clemenza di Tito (Toulouse, Marseille, Chicago, Liceu), Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg (Chicago, San Francisco), Carmen (Glyndebourne, Gothenburg) and Andrea Chénier (Liceu, Covent Garden).
She worked at la Scala, Wiener Staatsoper, Châtelet, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, Strasburg, Lille, Tokyo, Maggio Musicale, Ravenna Festival, Bologna, Parma, Turin, Genoa, Montpellier, Bari, Palermo and Welsh National Opera.

Recent credits as translator : Offenbach’s early operetta Vent du Soir into italian (Maggio Musicale), L’uomo in bivio and various frottole into french for Paulin Büdgen/Ensemble Céladon. She works as a translator for various publishers specialized in exhibition catalogues and poetry collections.
As a performer and director she worked on plays by Marivaux, Schnitzler, Goldoni, Calaferte and Le bourgeois Gentilhomme (Teatro Litta).

Marie grew up in Paris and in England. She read literature in Paris and Bologna and trained at la Scala. She was a visiting lecturer for French repertoire teacher at University of Cincinnati-CCM and acting coach at Mascarade Studio Florence. She is a founding member of Fonds Tutti and co-creator of their Tremplin mentoring programme.
